According to the listing, the title is a toned-down version of Quantic Dream's interactive drama with downgraded violence.
PEGI states that the original's "extreme violence" and "violence towards defenceless people" have been replaced with "realistic-looking violence". Specific details of how the content has been censored are yet to be revealed.
Heavy Rain was released for PlayStation 3 in February 2010, selling more than one million copies in its first three months. A Move-enhanced edition of the game followed in October.
Earlier this year, Quantic Dream boss David Cage downplayed rumours that the studio is planning to release a sequel to the title.
Heavy Rain Edition Modifiée is scheduled for release this month.
