The PSP E-1000 will retail for €99 (£87), and will drop WiFi support as a result of the low price.
The new PSP model, which has not yet been confirmed for the US, will be compatible with all existing PSP games, and be capable of downloading PSN titles by connecting to a PlayStation 3 or the Media Go application.
The new PSP model will be accompanied at retail by a new line of PSP Essentials for €9.99. PSP Essentials will include games such as LittleBigPlanet PSP, Invizimals: The Lost Tribe, EyePet Adventures and FIFA 12.
There is no release date yet for the new PSP model in Europe.
Sony also announced that it is dropping the price of the PS3 to $249 / €249 at the gamescom press conference.
