'A Game of Thrones: Genesis' arrives on PC this month

Game of Thrones: Genesis will release on PC later this month from developer Cyanide.

The game will adapt the world of George R.R. Martin's A Song of Fire and Ice saga to a real-time strategy game, telling the events leading up to the books and hit TV show.

Players will control the eight houses through over 1000 years of history, taking part in Westeros's founding, witnessing the awakening of the "Others" beyond the wall and playing a role in major battles such as Aegon the Conqueror's invasion and the War of the Usurper.

Game of Thrones: Genesis is unique among real-time strategy games for enabling players to achieve victory through military might as well as the treason, espionage, kidnappings and ransoms the series is known for.

The game will also feature multiplayer for up to 8 users online, with each player commanding one of the key houses.

Game of Thrones: Genesis will release on September 29 on PC.
