Rumoured earlier this month, the first-person shooter will see its modes spread across two discs on the console, while the PlayStation 3 release will arrive on a single Blu-ray.
Multiplayer, co-op and HD installation will be available on the first disc, while the single-player campaign will be on disc two, according to Eurogamer.
"Battlefield 3 for Xbox 360 ships on two discs with endless hours of spectacular high-definition gameplay," said a spokesperson.
"Disc one features the stunning multiplayer, co-op levels and HD installation content. Disc two features the superb single-player campaign."
L.A. Noire shipped on three discs when it was released for the Xbox 360 earlier this year.
Battlefield 3 will launch on October 25 in North America and October 28 in Europe.
