In the game, players control Oliver, a 13-year-old boy who is transported to a fantasy world as he embarks on a quest to revive his deceased mother.
Ni No Kuni is a turn-based role playing game, releasing in Japan on PlayStation 3 and Nintendo DS this November.
At Tokyo Game Show 2011, developer Level-5 confirmed that the PlayStation 3 version will release in early 2012 in North America.
A European release has not yet been announced.
The game is a collaboration between famed animation studio Studio Ghibli and Level-5, a developer best known for its Professor Layton series and Dragon Quest IX: Sentinels of the Starry Skies.
