During Tokyo Game Show 2011, Capcom producer Yoshinori Ono stated that users will only have to buy downloadable content once to use it with both the console and handheld versions.
"Yes, they're different hardware, but they're part of the same PlayStation family, so to speak, so we're already talking with Sony about ways to sync things together," Ono told Joystiq.
"As long as you're using the same PSN account, things you've purchased on the Vita version will work on PS3 and vice versa."
Also at Tokyo Game Show 2011, Capcom announced that it will release its fighting crossover Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 on PlayStation Vita as a launch title.
Street Fighter X Tekken will be playable at GAMEfest, which began yesterday at Birmingham's NEC arena and will run through to September 18.
