The handheld racing sim, which is being developed by Sumo Digital, will feature all of the official teams, cars, drivers and circuits from the current F1 season.
In addition to season play, Grand Prix and Time Trial, the 3DS port will also contain an objective-based Challenge mode, as well as online multiplayer.
Up to four players will be able to compete in Grand Prix races, while two-player co-operative and Time Trial events will also be included.
F1 2011 was released for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC in September.
