'Gran Turismo 6' in development, says Polyphony Digital

Gran Turismo 6 is currently in development, Polyphony Digital has announced.

Project lead Kazunori Yamauchi has said that anything it can't add to Gran Turismo 5 through downloadable content will be used for the next game.

"Of course we're working on GT6 already and I think what really will be the separating factor is something that we can't update through a DLC is something that obviously has to be saved for GT6," he told IGN.

"Things that we can provide through DLC we will, so that's really the market difference."

It was added that Gran Turismo 5 will continue to see new downloadable updates going forward, with the aim to release content every two months.

"I think that will include cars and trucks that we'll be releasing maybe once every two months or so from here on out," he said.

"What we do from here on is also really dependent on the reaction of the users to this first DLC that we just released because this is the first one. Now we have the feedback from our customers and we'll see how that will affect what we will do from here."

Gran Turismo 5's first downloadable content pack was released last month alongside a new title update.

Gran Turismo 6 was first teased last year, with Yamauchi saying that fans "won't have to wait as long" for it as the last game.
