Battlefield 3 is to have its tactical lights toned down in a future update.

The equipment, which is used to blind oncoming players, has been criticised for being too strong in broad daylight.

Core gameplay designer Alan Kertz has said that DICE is "listening" to ongoing feedback and plans to adjust its strength, revealing several comparison pictures showing the changes.

Elsewhere, Kertz said he may consider MAVs as a counter to mortar fire, and feedback regarding ECM jammers to destroy a Mortar in just a few hits.

No date has been scheduled for the game's next title update.

Over the weekend, Electronic Arts announced it had banned "hundreds" of players cheating in Battlefield 3.

Battlefield 3 is available now for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
