Apps including LOVEFiLM (UK), ESPN (US) and Netflix (US and Canada) will launch alongside tomorrow's Xbox 360 dashboard update, while blinkbox, Dailymotion and YouTube will be released later this month.
As previously reported, BBC programming will not be available until 2012, nor will the likes of HBO GO and Xfinity On Demand, both of which are exclusive to US Xbox 360 owners.
The new Xbox 360 dashboard update will adopt the Metro panel seen on Windows Phone and Windows 8 operating systems.
Channels can be navigated using either a controller, Kinect or voice control, which will be integrated into its brand new Bing search function.
At gamescom 2011, Microsoft revealed that the new dashboard update will also add Xbox Live cloud storage, which will be compatible with all games.
