'The Sims 3: Showtime' announced by EA

The Sims 3: Showtime has been unveiled by Electronic Arts.
The upcoming Sims 3 expansion sees players court fame as either a singer, acrobat, magician or DJ.
Based in a brand new area called Starlight Shores, the game adds new character traits and Lifetime Wishes, as well as the ability to build custom venues, which influences career progression.
The Sims 3: Showtime adds a wealth of new social network features and introduces SimPort, enabling players to import and export Sims from other games to perform concerts and live shows.
The game will also contain a number of achievements and challenges, which can be tracked and shared using in-game wall posts.
The Sims 3: Showtime is due to be released for the PC and Mac in March 2012.
