Community strategist Robert Bowling said that players risk being "permabanned" for doing "something bad", with one user unable to access the game for 5,000 days, or over 13 and a half years.
Bowling later told a user on Twitter that bans were issued for a number of serious issues.
"Boosting, Cheating, Hacking, Exploiting, Inappropriate behaviour (racial slurs, abusive language, etc)," he said. "Based on reports in game."
Over 1,600 players were banned following similar tactics less than two weeks after its November 11 launch.
Modern Warfare 3 was recently named as the fastest-selling piece of entertainment, beating Avatar to the $1 billion sales mark.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was released for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC on November 8.
