'Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City' gains Heroes mode

Heroes Mode has been announced for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City.

Adopting a third-person viewpoint, Heroes Mode sees two teams of four battle it out across a number of iconic Resident Evil locations.

The multiplayer mode features eight classic characters, such as Leon S Kennedy, Jill Valentine, Hunk, Ada Wong and Claire Redfield.

Players must use each character's individual skills to defeat their opponents and survive an onslaught of zombies and B.OW.s.

Operation Raccoon City takes place during the events of the second and third instalments of the Resident Evil series. Players will take control of an Umbrella Security Service soldier attempting to remove evidence of the corporation's experiments.

As well as iconic locations such as Raccoon City Police Department, characters including Leon Kennedy appear as potential targets, allowing players to rewrite the history of the series.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC from March 2012.
