Electronic Arts has added the Koenigsegg CCX "Elite" Edition vehicle to racing RPG as the first entry in a new line of premium cars.
Need for Speed World switched to the free-to-play business model in 2010. The game currently has more than 5 million registered subscribers.
The Koenigsegg CCX "Elite" Edition is on sale for $75 (£48) until December 21. It is unknown whether future cars in the Elite range will bear similar price tags.
EA Black Box and EA Singapore co-developed Need for Speed World, which was released under the studio's Play4Free label.
Need for Speed World is available now for PC.
