'Crysis 2', 'Gears of War 3' top 2011 most pirated games list

The top pirated games of 2011 have been revealed.

The most prolific was Crysis 2 on PC, which saw 3.9 million illegal downloads since its release in March, topping the likes of Modern Warfare 3 with 3.6 million and Battlefield 3 with 3.5 million, according to Torrent Freak.



Super Mario Galaxy 2 was the most pirated Wii game at 1.3 million, followed by Mario Sports Mix and Xenoblade Chronicles.

Finally, Gears of War 3 topped the Xbox 360 list with 890,000 copies pirated, followed closely by Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3.

It was added that numbers for top titles were down slightly over the last year, and other platforms such as the PS3 were excluded due to considerably low download numbers.

Xbox 360 downloads:

1. Gears of War 3 (890,000)
2. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (830,000)
3. Battlefield 3 (760,000)
4. Forza Motorsport 4 (720,000)
5. Kinect Sports: Season Two (690,000)
