BioWare's multiplayer online title appears in the 2012 'Gamer's Edition' of the world record book, which also hails the studio's Knights of the Old Republic as the best Star Wars game ever made.
Star Wars: The Old Republic has more than 200,000 lines of quest dialogue and features several hundred voice actors. The game's budget is said to have fallen somewhere between $125 million and $200 million (£80.6 million and £129 million).
The Guinness World Records 2012 Gamer's Edition also features a two-page spread dedicated to 30 years of Star Wars video games, which includes a list of the top ten games based on the movie saga.
Lego Star Wars: The Complete Saga, X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter and Star Wars Arcade were among the top ten, ranked behind Knights of the Old Republic.
The Guinness World Records 2012 Gamer's Edition is available in the UK on January 19.
