It will first be available to PlayStation Plus subscribers, who can join the beta January 17 in North America and January 18 in Europe. Users who have a beta code from purchasing Uncharted 3 will then be given access to the beta January 31 in North America and February 1 in Europe.
The final stage will be the public beta open to all users with a PlayStation Network account, which will launch February 21 in North America and February 22 in Europe.
An end date for the public beta has not been set.
Starhawk is a futuristic follow-up to 2007's online shooter Warhawk. Players can battle on foot or in both land and air vehicles in 32-player online matches. Buildings, turrets and reinforcements can also be airdropped from orbit to add new tactical options.
The final game will also feature a single-player story campaign, though the public beta will remain focused on multiplayer.
