A petition requesting a PC port has reached over 69,000 signatures in one week, and Namco Bandai executives have taken notice.
"I honestly wasn't expecting such a massive support. My boss(es) even came to talk to me about this, after it [exploded] all around the world," Namco Bandai community manager Tony Shoupinou responded on the company's forums.
"If you wanted to have the attention of Namco Bandai Games, now you have it. The future is in your hands, and I hope you will keep supporting this. I make a personal objective to make sure every relevant [person] in Namco Bandai Games is in touch with this formidable effort. Great thanks."
Later in the forum thread, Shoupinou clarified that this is not necessarily a confirmation that Dark Souls will be ported to PC.
"I can't say it's going to happen (I wish I had this power ^^), but I can assure management of the company will know about it, and I think that's already a good achievement and a good step forward."
Dark Souls sold well after its release on Xbox 360 and PS3 in October, with 1.5 million units shipped worldwide.
The game is the spiritual successor to role-playing adventure Demon's Souls, adopting an open-world format and a harder difficulty setting.
