New events include Keirin (cycling), 10m Synchronised Platform diving and the Trampoline, alongside 30 other events all recreated in their official Olympic arenas.

London 2012 will also offer new global leaderboards, where medals earned from players of each nation result in an overall global standing.

"London 2012 sees the successful relationship between SEGA, ISM and the IOC become even more exciting in the run-up to the 2012 Olympic Games," said senior vice president of marketing Gary Knight.

"With all new Olympic events and returning favourite sports brought to life with the very latest video gaming technology, everyone can truly compete in the greatest sporting event on earth".

London 2012 - The Official Video Game of the Olympic Games will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC this June.
