Dear Esther has been given its first full trailer.
Nominated for four awards in this year's Independent Games Festival, Dear Esther is an experimental first-person adventure set on a mysterious island.
Elements of the game's story are told through exploration and appear at random, making each journey a unique experience for the player.
The goal is to discover who the player is controlling, what the island is, the significance of landmarks such as an aerial and motorway, and why someone named Esther has brought you to the island.
Dear Esther was first released as a free-to-download mod for Half-Life 2 in 2008 by University of Portsmouth researcher Dan Pinchbeck as a project to explore experimental game play and storytelling.
Dear Esther will be available on PC through Steam on February 14.
