The BioWare multiplayer online game was named as the organisation's 'Accessible Mainstream Game of the Year' for 2011.
AbleGamers praised the title for including colour blind-friendly options, full subtitles and controls optimised for users with mobility impairments.
"BioWare did a wonderful job including a large number of options right at launch with the promise of including more as soon as possible," said AbleGamers Foundation president Mark Barlet. "It's very rare to see a game of this calibre initially released with so many accessibility options."
Star Wars: The Old Republic was released for PC late last year. The game was inducted into The Guinness World Records 2012 Gamer's Edition shortly afterwards as the 'Largest Entertainment Voice Over Project' of all time.
BioWare also picked up the 'Accessible Mainstream Game of the Year' prize in 2009 for Dragon Age: Origins.
