'Indie Game: The Movie' to become HBO comedy

Indie Game: The Movie is to be remade as a TV show.

The film has been picked up by HBO producer Scott Rudin to be developed into a half-hour comedy series, according to Deadline.

Indie Game: The Movie, which debuted at Sundance last week, is a documentary about game designers creating their own projects outside of major studios and the hardships they face.

Games featured include one-million selling platformer Super Meat Boy and upcoming Xbox Live Arcade title Fez.

Rudin has recently worked with The West Wing's Aaron Sorkin to bring The Newsroom to HBO later this year.

The network also acquired the rights to Me @ The Zoo at this year's Sundance Film Festival.
