Akimbo weapons will now experience a reduced fire rate. The Striker shotgun, meanwhile, has seen its effectiveness decreased, in line with improvements to all other shotguns.
The update also features improvements to "Host Disadvantage"/"Lag Comp", increases the speed in which videos can be uploaded to YouTube and fixes a bug that prevents some users from receiving their prestige tokens.
Currently only available to Xbox 360 users, the patch will be released on the PS3 and PC soon.
The latest patch arrives days after the release of the first downloadable map packs. Maps Liberation and Piazza are currently available to Call of Duty: Elite subscribers, and will be followed by a third piece of content in February and another two in March.
Activision recently revealed the downloadable content schedule for the next nine months of Modern Warfare 3.
