The lack of an online pass will prevent players from receiving additional credits, which are used to purchase in-game items and unlock certain events, reports Game Informer.
Credits can, however, still be earned in the game's Explore mode, while any credits won in multiplayer Global Events will be stored and retrieved upon purchase of a pass.
Electronic Arts introduced the online pass in Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions of Tiger Woods PGA Tour 11.
The scheme, which is aimed to prevent piracy and restrict second-hand sales, has been used by Ubisoft in last year's Driver: San Francisco and Warner Bros Interactive in Mortal Kombat and Batman: Arkham City.
SSX is scheduled for release on February 28, 2012 in North America and on March 2, 2012 in Europe.
