The two games - Shinobi and Sonic Triple Trouble - will be the first from Sega's Game Gear to appear in the 3DS eShop.
Prior to the release of the Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo announced that the system's Virtual Console would include games from the Game Gear and TurboGrafx in addition to Game Boy and Game Boy Colour.
Neither Nintendo nor Sega has announced release dates for either game at this time.
Recently, Nintendo announced that Nintendo Network, an online service that will span the Wii U and Nintendo 3DS, will launch later this year, providing personal user accounts and the ability to purchase downloadable content.
A number of high profile releases are scheduled for Nintendo's handheld over the coming months, including Kid Icarus: Uprising, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D, and next week's Resident Evil: Revelations.
