Mass Effect 3 developer BioWare has revealed that saves may influence future games.

BioWare's associate producer Mike Gamble suggested that it has plans to use them after the trilogy draws to a close.

"It wouldn't be a bad idea," he told GamerZines. "Obviously I can't say anything, but it wouldn't be a bad idea..."

BioWare has previously stated that the Mass Effect 3 universe would continue without Sheperd, and that the third game represents a brand new beginning for the series.

The Xbox 360 version will feature Kinect support, allowing users to issue voice commands during battle and in cutscenes.

Mass Effect 3 will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC from March 6 in North America and March 9 in Europe.
