Skullgirls has been given a new trailer.
The video explains the story of the fighting game, which sees characters battling for control of the mysterious Skull Heart.
The downloadable title is developed by Def Jam Rapstar studio Autumn Games, and aims to address many complaints with the fighting genre.
An extensive tutorial mode and relaxed input timings for complicated moves aim to make it more accessible for newcomers.
Meanwhile, a ratio tag battle system means players can opt to fight with a single character that has the same HP as the opponent's.
Finally, it will also be one of the first dedicated console titles to make use of the GGPO (Good Game Peace Out) netcode for online play.
Skullgirls will be available on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 during early 2012.
