Sleeping Dogs has been announced by Square Enix.

Formally known as True Crime: Hong Kong, the open-world action adventure promises to show the darker side of Hong Kong.

Players will play as Wei, an undercover cop who attempts to integrate himself into the city's criminal network.

Convincing the triads and making his way to the top will see the lines blurred between his duties between the unlawful and lawful.

It has been teased that everything shown in the announcement trailer can be performed in the game.

Square Enix bought the rights to True Crime: Hong Kong.

It's almost a year to the day since Activision cancelled the game alongside its Guitar Hero division.

The United Front-developed title will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC sometime this year.
