The highly-anticipated sequel is now content complete, according to Bioware executive producer Casey Hudson.
"After an awesome effort by our team, I'm proud to announce #MassEffect3 is officially GOLD! Many surprises await you - this week and beyond," Hudson said on Twitter.
Last week, the first piece of Mass Effect 3 DLC, 'From Dust', was leaked by retailers offering pre-orders.
A demo for the game will be available from Xbox Live tomorrow, February 14. Mass Effect 3's demo will be part of a promotion with fellow EA role-playing game Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning.
Mass Effect 3 will be available on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC from March 6 in North America and March 9 in Europe.
