Within three days of the Creation Kit's launch it had already generated over 2 million downloads from users. In total, over 2,500 free mods are available so far through the Steam Workshop.
Among those free mods is Valve's own Portal 2-themed mod featuring the Space Core.
Bethesda also revealed that, according to Steam's metrics, the average user has spent over 75 hours playing Skyrim. This is after the game became the fastest-selling PC title on digital distribution service Steam.
During the recent Interactive Achievement Awards, Skyrim earned five awards, including 'Game of the Year', 'Outstanding Achievement in Story' and 'Role-Playing/Massively Multiplayer Game of the Year'.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was released for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in November.
