Ubisoft has announced that ShootMania: Storm will be released free-to-play on PC later this year.

The multiplayer first-person shooter is being developed by Nadeo Studio, who previously worked on the TrackMania racing franchise.

Like TrackMania, ShootMania: Storm will have an extensive map editor to create and share new levels over the game's ManiaPlanet 2.0 system.

A release date has not yet been set, but an open beta is scheduled to begin in the coming months.

Release dates for Ubisoft's Far Cry 3 and Assassin's Creed III have also emerged today.

A new trailer revealed that Far Cry 3 will be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on September 4 in North America and September 6 in Europe.

It was also announced during a conference call today that Assassin's Creed III will arrive on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC on October 30.
