In addition to playing games across platforms, cross-play will give users access to content on both PlayStation 3 and PS Vita.
Purchasing Hustle Kings on PS Vita will allow users to download the game on PlayStation 3 for free. Users who already have purchased the game on PlayStation 3 will likewise have the ability to download the PS Vita version for free.
WipEout 2048 owners on PS Vita will gain free access to a WipEout 2048 DLC pack for WipEout HD on PlayStation 3. Those who have downloaded WipEout HD Fury on PlayStation 3 will then be able to download their respective DLC track packs for WipEout 2048 when they launch later this spring.
Sony also reiterated that any DLC purchased for either the PS Vita or PlayStation 3 version of Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 will provide access to the DLC for both versions of the game. Capcom first announced this feature for both Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3 and Street Fighter X Tekken at Tokyo Game Show 2011.
PlayStation Vita will arrive in North America and Europe on February 22.
