Nintendo has revealed details on the multiplayer options in Kid Icarus: Uprising.
The two multiplayer modes consist of standard free-for-all or the unique Light vs Dark battles.
Light vs Dark will have competitions between two teams of three players. The teams will share a common life bar, which turns the last player defeated into an angel when it depletes. The winning team is the one who defeats the opposing team's angel first.
Weapons will also factor heavily into Kid Icarus: Uprising's multiplayer. There will be nine unique weapon types, each with its own style of play. For example, clubs are a powerful but slow melee weapon while claws provide a speed boost and a staff can be used for sniping.
Weapons can be collected through the single player campaign or traded through Street Pass, and combined to create new powerful weapons with unique attributes.
Multiplayer can be played both locally and online by up to six players, with computer controlled opponents filling in remaining player slots.
Kid Icarus: Uprising will be compatible with the Circle Pad Pro attachment, remapping the stylus controls to the right circle pad. Nintendo has now confirmed the game will also come bundled with a special 3DS stand in Europe and North America.
In North America, players who pre-order the game through GameStop will receive a download code for 3D Classics: Kid Icarus for the Nintendo 3DS eShop
Kid Icarus: Uprising is scheduled to launch on March 23.
