During a pre-recorded stream, it was also revealed that the MMO role-playing game will have cross-platform compatibility with both the Vita and the previously-announced PC version.
The feature will allow anyone to use the same character across the two platforms.
Phantasy Star Online 2, to be developed by Sonic Team and published by Sega, will be released sometime in 2013.
The original Phantasy Star Online debuted on the Dreamcast in 2000, with GameCube and Xbox ports launched two years later.
