Tim Schafer's latest project - the largest crowd-funded game to date - broke Kickstarter records for the highest revenue in 24 hours, as well as highest number of supporters.
Initially aiming to generate $400,000 in funds, the project has now passed the $3 million mark with only a few hours left before the project's Kickstarter deadline.
The project will fund a new retro-styled point-and-click adventure game by Maniac Mansion and Monkey Island creators Tim Schafer and Ron Gilbert.
Schafer announced that the extra money will be used to translate the game into other languages and port the PC title to iOS and Android devices.
Double Fine has also recently filed a trademark for The Cave, though the title is for a new IP not associated with Double Fine Adventure.
