The collection will include the first three games in the series, Ratchet and Clank, Ratchet and Clank 2: Locked & Loaded and Ratchet and Clank 3. Like past PlayStation 2 collections, each game will receive updated 1080p high definition graphics, 3D support and trophies.
Ratchet and Clank 3 will also retain its competitive online multiplayer mode, which many players didn't get to experience due to the PlayStation 2's less robust online options.
The Ratchet and Clank series was originally developed for PlayStation 2 by Resistance developer Insomniac Games. The HD ports have been adapted by Idol Minds.
In Europe, Ratchet and Clank Trilogy will be available on May 16.
The North American release, which is being called The Ratchet and Clank Collection, will be available later in the fall. Sony says the delay is to offer "something very special" for the series' tenth anniversary.
Sony last year brought The Sly Collection to PlayStation 3 and recently released the Jak and Daxter HD Collection.
Ratchet and Clank Trilogy will be available May 16 in Europe, followed by release in the fall for North America.
