The update will add over 200 voice commands to the open-world role-playing game, including menu navigation, follower commands, hotkey equipping and dragon shouts.
It will also offer new features such as special map functions, new hotkey options and sorting inventory items by name, value and weight.
A full list of voice commands will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
The first set of downloadable content for the game, which will launch as an Xbox 360 timed exclusive, was also teased.
"Bethesda Game Studios has been hard at work on creating the first set of game add-ons that will be exclusive to the Xbox 360," read a press release.
"This additional content will add new quests, locations, features, and much more to the world of Skyrim. Stay tuned for more details."
Skyrim was recently updated to version 1.5, adding new killcams and animations.
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim was released for PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in November. It was named as the fastest-selling PC game on digital distribution service Steam.
