The game is the follow-up to 2009 RPG Risen, which was once also developed by German team Piranha Bytes and published by Deep Silver.
The latest release sees the return of the hero from the original game, who sets off to destroy the sea monsters that are responsible for food shortages across the last human stronghold.
The console versions contain additional gameplay content, such as 'The Air Temple' mission, which takes place within a mysterious and magical lost temple.
French studio Wizarbox is handling the PS3 and Xbox 360 development of the game, which was already delayed once until May.
