'Max Payne 3' PC requirements, new screenshots released

Max Payne 3's PC system requirements have been announced by Rockstar.

The game will require a minimum of 2GB of RAM, a DirectX 9 compliant 512MB video card and a dual core processor.

However, for best results it can be quite demanding, asking for 16GB of system RAM, a DirectX 11 video card with 2GB of RAM and working with up to an eight core processor.

The full system requirements are as follows:

Minimum requirements:
  • Windows 7 32/64 Service Pack 1, Windows Vista 32/64 Service Pack 2, Windows XP 32/64 Service Pack 3
  • Intel Dual Core 2.4 GHZ or AMD Dual Core 2.6 GHZ processor
  • 2GB of RAM
  • NVIDIA 8600 GT 512MB VRAM or Radeon HD 3400 512MB VRAM video card
  • 100% Direct X 9.0 compatible sound card
  • 35 GB of hard drive space

    Optimal requirements:
  • Windows 7 32/64 Service Pack 1, Windows Vista 32/64 Service Pack 2, Windows XP 32/64 Service Pack 3
  • Intel i7 3930K 6 Core x 3.06 GHZ or AMD FX8150 8 Core x 3.6 GHZ processor
  • 16GB of RAM
  • NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 2GB VRAM or Radeon HD 7970 3GB VRAM video card
  • Direct X 9.0 compatible sound card supporting Dolby Digital Live
  • 35 GB of hard drive space

  • Rockstar also released new PC screenshots today to show the game running at its highest settings.

    Achievements and Trophies for the action title, which cover both the campaign and online multiplayer, were unveiled earlier this week.

    Max Payne 3 will be released in North America on May 15 and Europe on May 18 for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and then on June 1 for PC.
