A total of 11 launch events will be held across the globe in the US, UK, France, Germany, Russia, Sweden, Poland, South Korea, Thailand, Singapore and Taiwan.
The events will begin the night of May 14, with contests and giveaways leading up to the game's midnight release. Blizzard developers will also be on hand to meet the players and sign copies of the game.
Attendees will be able to purchase either the game's standard edition or the Collector's Edition, which includes the game's soundtrack, a two-disc behind-the-scenes DVD and Blu-ray set, an art book and a 4GB USB soulstone flash drive loaded with the full games of Diablo II and its expansion Lord of Destruction.

Outside of the launch events, Blizzard is also offering Diablo III free to users who sign up for the World of Warcraft annual pass, a yearly subscription to the popular MMO.
Diablo III is currently in the beta testing phase of development. The beta will officially close on May 1, prior to the game's release on May 15.
