UKIE has announced the return of the London Games Festival, which will take place over the course of an entire month.

The festival begins on September 27, running up until October 28. It features a wide variety of events celebrating gaming culture.

The London Games Festival will play host to consumer exhibitions, game launches and parties, careers' fairs and educational summits.

Overseen by UKIE's Kirsty Payne, it will also host fringe events such as video game pub quizzes and gaming inspired karaoke.

Calling it the biggest London Games Festival to date, Kirsty Payne promised to devote more resources than ever before in a bid to reflect the way consumers buy and play games.

"The way people buy, play and consume games is changing - and we hope to reflect that with a wide range of brilliant events falling under one glorious banner," explained Payne.

"Anyone can host an event under the London Games Festival banner - so we're looking forward to getting the capital playing together and celebrating the culture of games from September 27," she added.

The news comes on the same day that the lineup for Nottingham's GameCity7 event was announced.

GameCity7 takes place during October's half-term and features an entire day dedicated to Peter Molyneux.

Last year's event showcased Uncharted 3 and Journey and featured a guest appearance by From Dust creator Eric Chachi.
