Soul Sacrifice has received its first teaser trailer from Sony.
The video shows a dark action fantasy game, which is being created exclusively for PlayStation Vita.
The art style and brief gameplay footage for the title led many to believe that Soul Sacrifice might be co-developed by From Software as part of its Souls series, including Demon's Souls and last year's Dark Souls.
However, Andriasang reports new details of the game leaked early from Weekly Famitsu in Japan.
Mega Man creator Keiji Inafune is reportedly involved in the game, with development handled by Marvelous AQL.
The 'Sacrifice' in the title is reportedly a reference to the game's magic system, which requires payment to cast spells. Trees and rocks can be used as payment, but more powerful spells will demand sacrificing body parts - with the example given of a character sacrificing an eye to summon a gorgon ally.
Today's teaser trailer hints at a larger announcement scheduled for Thursday (May 10), where more details about the game will be revealed.
Sony today also announced the Crystal White version of PlayStation Vita, which will be available in Japan this June.
