The unannounced game appeared on UK retailer ShopTo's website earlier today. The listing has since been removed, but had the game scheduled for release on October 26.
The retailer listing seems to confirm reports from MCV earlier this week that the upcoming line of LEGO Lord of the Rings toys, slated for this summer, included a reference to the video game on its packaging.
The game will be based on the three Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings films, recreated in LEGO bricks with the humour that has made the LEGO series such a success.
It will once again be developed by Traveller's Tales, who holds the LEGO brand license for video games.
The studio's next game in the LEGO franchise is LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes. It will feature a wide cast that sees Batman and Robin team up with other DC characters, including Superman, Wonder Woman and Green Lantern.
