The announcement is accompanied by a brand new trailer highlighting some of the features exclusive to the Vita port.
The PlayStation Vita version will utilise the machine's tilt function, touchscreen capabilities and features cross-platform play with the PS3.
Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time picks up where Sly 3 left off, with the game's titular character feigning amnesia so that he can be with the love of his life, Carmelita.
Writing on the PlayStation Blog, Sanzaru Games president Glen Egan revealed that players will be able to control Carmelita in the upcoming game.
"She (Carmelita) is, of course, a fully playable character in Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time and so we also spent a lot of time evolving her gameplay," explained Egan.
"We have gone with a more precise over-the-shoulder aiming technique that allows players to lock on the targets quickly and easily."
Sly Cooper: Thieves In Time was announced during Sony's live conference at last year's E3 event in Los Angeles.
Sly Cooper will also make an appearance in upcoming Sony brawler PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale.
