Users can go to the game's official site to register for the beta, and will be notified at a later date if they are accepted.
Developer Nadeo has also released a new trailer for the game to give beta applicants an idea of what to expect.
A large part of Shootmania: Storm's draw is its level editor, and to highlight that fact the entire trailer was created using the level editor. The editing tools also extend to user-created videos, meaning that the entire trailer was made using in-game tools.
The trailer also highlights the game's fast-paced team-based action, as players leap around a wooded castle arena fighting to capture control points.
Nadeo previously revealed that the game will not feature an offline single-player mode, likening it to football or tennis where other players are required.
