Sony outed the title during its E3 2012 press conference today (June 5).
It will be a fully featured first-person shooter for PS Vita making use of the system's dual analogue sticks, although Sony did not reveal any specific details.
Sony also announced that PSone classics will be playable on PS Vita later this summer.
New entertainment apps are also coming to PS Vita, including the video services Hulu Plus and Crackle.
Other highlights from Sony's E3 conference include the announcement that HTC has become an official PlayStation partner, and confirmation of Assassin's Creed 3: Liberation for the handheld.
Call of Duty Black Ops: Declassified will be available on PS Vita during the "holiday season".
