The colourful Wii U action game shares similarities with Nintendo's own Pikmin series, as players gather a swarm of superheroes to perform more powerful attacks.
Developed by Platinum Games, Project P-100 hearkens back to the developer's origin as Clover Studio with the cult classic action title Viewtiful Joe.
Platinum Games has more recently been the studio behind titles such as Vanquish, Bayonetta and the upcoming Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.
Project P-100 will be available exclusively for the Wii U, releasing during the system's launch window.
It was one of nearly 40 titles announced for Nintendo's next console during E3.
