Nintendo launched Pokemon Black and White 2 in Japan yesterday (June 23), with official sales figures from its first weekend to be announced next Wednesday, Andriasang reports.
Pokemon Black 2 and White 2 are the first direct sequels in the series. Nintendo traditionally denotes new additions to the franchise by colour, rather than numerically.
The games are set two years after their predecessors and see players return to the region of Unova. The world has undergone numerous changes since the previous games, and will play host to new characters.
Pokemon Black and White 2 will be released for Nintendo DS in the West this autumn.
