The updated version of the 2D fighting game will be available to download on XBLA on August 21 for 1600 Microsoft Points (£15 / $20), followed by a PSN release the following day for £15.99 / $19.99.
Based on the Japanese manga series of the same name, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure HD focuses on Jotaro Kujo and the powerful Joestar family.
Each of the game's characters has a supernatural companion known as a 'Stand', which can be unleashed against an opponent to inflict extra damage.
The latest edition features upgraded HD visuals, alongside a standard definition mode, for fans of the original art style.
It also features a new multiplayer lobby system where fighters will be able to compete in a 'winner stays on' environment with up to eight players.
Also new to the series is the ability to save replays and share them online.
The original JoJo's Bizarre Adventure appeared on the Dreamcast and PSOne in 1999/2000.
