As should be expected, the game will release on November 23 to coincide with the Dreamworks film of the same name. It will be available for Wii, Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo DS, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3.
Surprisingly though, D3 Publisher lists state that Rise of the Guardians: The Video Game will also be available for the Wii U on November 23 along with the game's other versions. By contrast, publishers of other multiplatform games coming to Nintendo's next system have specified that the Wii U version does not yet have a release date.
Nintendo has not announced an official launch date for the Wii U or any of its games, making Rise of the Guardians: The Video Game the first Wii U title to have a release date.
Rise of Guardians: The Video Game will follow the plot of the Dreamworks animated comedy - based on the Guardians of Childhood book series by William Joyce - and sees Santa Claus, the Tooth Fairy, Jack Frost, the Easter Bunny and the Sandman joining forces to defeat a villain named Pitch.
It features unique abilities that can be upgraded for each of the characters along with drop-in, drop-out co-operative multiplayer for up to four players.
Nintendo has said the Wii U will launch sometime during the 2012 holiday season, with the price and official date to be announced later this year.
